About
When did you learn to skate?
-Around 10-12 years old. We went open skating and to the outdoor rinks to learn before we started playing hockey.

Did you play hockey growing up?
-Yes. Chaska High School, Minnesota Thoroughbreds, and Concordia University Wisconsin.

What other sports did you play growing up?
-Soccer, lacrosse, golf, track and field.
If you could do anything non-athletic in your spare time, what is it?
-Drawing. I’ve slowly been getting better at cartooning and will include drawings in cards or notes.

Describe going down an IceCross track for the first time:
-Terrifying. I fell on every single feature in Edmonton. But after the nerves calmed down and we kept doing more runs, it was so much fun.

What first got you interested in the sport?
-Jenna Westerham told my sister and I to do a Rider’s Cup at Hyland Hills in 2018. Then we qualified for Edmonton!

If there is one piece of advice that you could offer new riders, what would it be?
-When you’re up high at the starting gate, ignore that nervous feeling in your stomach that says “Don’t do this. This is a bad idea” and just go. That will go away eventually.

Who is your favorite sports athlete?
-Matt Dumba
