Competing Since: Afton Alps 2015
When did you learn to skate?
-As soon as I could stay up as a kiddo out on the lakes.
Did you play hockey growing up?
-You betcha. 4th grade through junior year of high school and recreationally since.
What other sports did you play growing up?
-I ran track and cross country as well as cross country skied.
If you could do anything non-athletic in your spare time, what is it?
-I like to putz around the house, mostly working on my yard little by little.
Describe going down an IceCross track for the first time:
-Thrilling. You think there’s no way the edges of your skates could possibly stay on the ice, and before you know it you’re a little out of control, in a good way.
What first got you interested in the sport?
-My brother who competed the year prior encouraged me to check it out. It seemed like a unique opportunity(Where can you ever find skateable downhill ice in nature?), so I thought I'd give it a whirl.
If there is one piece of advice that you could offer new riders, what would it be?
-Bend your knees and know the course is possible- and also try to never forget the feeling of going down the track.
Who is your favorite sports athlete?
